Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal data is collected on edugate.az (the "Site"), why it is used and what rights you have. The Site is operated in line with the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On Personal Data". For users in the European Union, the principles of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) are also followed.
1. Controller and contact
The data controller is the owner of the EduGate site. For questions, requests and complaints: info@edugate.az
2. What we collect
- Contact form: first and last name, phone (WhatsApp) number, the country and study level you are interested in. The address and language of the page the form was sent from are recorded automatically so we know which article you came from.
- Email subscription: your email address only.
- Spam protection: an irreversible code (hash) is created from your IP address to stop many requests from the same network. The IP address itself is not stored in the database.
- Technical logs: Cloudflare, which hosts the Site, processes standard server logs (IP address, browser type, date and time) for security and reliability.
3. Cookies and tracking
The Site does not set its own cookies. No advertising or analytics tools (such as Google Analytics or Meta Pixel) are used, and no external font services are loaded. Cloudflare may set technical cookies for security.
If analytics is added in future, this policy will be updated beforehand and your consent will be requested where required.
4. Purposes and legal bases
- To contact you and advise on study and scholarships. Basis: the consent you give by submitting the form.
- To send notifications about new scholarships and deadlines. Basis: the consent you give when subscribing.
- Site security and spam protection. Basis: legitimate interest.
- Compliance with legal obligations.
We do not sell your data and do not share it with third parties for advertising.
5. Who we share data with
- Cloudflare: hosting and delivery of the Site.
- Supabase: the database where requests and subscriptions are stored.
- An email delivery service: only if subscription emails are sent, and only for that purpose.
- Competent public authorities: only where required by law.
Service providers process data only on our behalf and on our instructions.
6. International transfers
Our providers’ servers may be located outside Azerbaijan. In such cases we require an appropriate level of data protection.
7. Retention
- Contact request data is kept for 24 months after the last contact, then deleted or anonymised.
- A subscription email is kept until you unsubscribe.
- Technical server logs are kept for a short period under Cloudflare’s own rules.
8. Security
The Site runs over HTTPS. Direct access to the database is closed, writes go only through a protected server function, and access is limited to authorised people. No system is completely secure, so if a breach occurs we will notify you and the competent authority as the law requires.
9. Your rights
- To learn what data we hold about you and obtain a copy.
- To ask for inaccurate data to be corrected.
- To ask for your data to be deleted or its processing restricted.
- To object to processing and withdraw your consent at any time.
- To unsubscribe.
To use these rights, write to info@edugate.az. We reply within 30 days. If you believe your rights have been violated, you may contact the competent public authority or a court.
10. Children
The Site is not intended for people under 18. If you are under 18, fill in the form with the consent of a parent or legal guardian.
11. External links
The Site links to official websites of universities, scholarship programmes and public bodies. We are not responsible for their privacy practices.
12. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated. The current version is always on this page, with the last update date shown at the top.
